The 10-Second Film Challenge — Group Effort For Zoom Meeting

This is challenge for my class: The 10-Second Filmmaker: Learn Storytelling 10 Seconds at a Time.

To take part in this class, you can join it here and watch it FOR FREE - through this special link just for this competition: https://skl.sh/47E05m6

This is a community filmmaking challenge where anyone can create and share a 10-second short film. There are no judges, no competition, and no single winner. Instead, everyone who uploads a film by December 20th will be invited to a group Zoom session on January 10th, where we’ll talk filmmaking, creativity, and answer your questions. The focus is simple: make something, share it, and take a real step into filmmaking.

- Instead of choosing one winner, I want this round to be a group effort — a place where everyone who makes a 10-second film gets to be part of something creative, supportive, and fun.

- If you post your 10-second film as a Class Project before December 20th, you will be invited to a group Zoom call on January 10th.

In that session, I’ll answer general questions about filmmaking, creative blocks, camera work, editing workflow — anything you’re curious about.

The Zoom call is the reward.

Sharing your work is the achievement.

This challenge is not about being perfect. It’s not about competing. It’s about taking a step forward — even if that step feels vulnerable. Posting a film, even a 10-second one, means you’re crossing a threshold. You’re showing your voice. You’re making something real.

There’s no right or wrong way to do this.

Just tell a moment. Capture a feeling. If you think that your film is 'silly' or 'not good' - you're on the right track - it's the golden reverse compass!

How to Join

1.Make a 10-second film.

2.Post it here as a Class Project (with a YouTube link).

3.That’s it — you’re in.

Everyone who posts their film before December 20th gets access to the January 10th Zoom session.

I hope you do this. Not for me — for you.

If you’ve been waiting for the “right moment” to start filmmaking… this is it.

And I want to make it very clear! I LOVE teaching and sharing, so the more films I see, the happier I'll be - hmm, not that you're responsible for my happiness per se - but ... haha - enjoy making your film!

Let’s make something together. Let’s see your 10 seconds.
